The Hawk Conservancy Trust, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is a full day out for all the family. There are up to three world-class flying displays each day which showcase the skill of our birds, over 150 birds of prey on view from the tiny Pygmy Owl to the impressive Steller’s Sea Eagles, and every visitor can hold a bird of prey! Don’t miss the new ‘Wings of Africa’ display. See Sacred Ibis fly elegantly alongside owls, vultures and kites; experience the Savannah with the dramatic impact of a bushfire and African rainstorm and the appearance of Meerkats!

During the school summer holidays, there’s the chance to take part in the ‘Sarson Falconer’ - a medieval-themed display that re-enacts falconry from times gone by. At weekends and school holidays, there are extra activities including duck racing, ferret racing, pond-dipping and tractor rides. The little ones can let off steam in the adventure play area or by dashing around the grounds to hunt for the raptor stamps for the Raptor Passport, with the ultimate aim of winning a treat.

For those who want to learn more and get closer to our birds, there are Children’s Owl Experiences, Young Falconer Experiences and Family Experiences, all of which are held on specific dates and offer an extraordinary memory to cherish forever.

The Hawk Conservancy Trust offers an out-of-the-ordinary venue for a child’s birthday, with a range of enjoyable activities and entertainment for a minimum of five children. Each birthday child can help start the duck or ferret race, and will have an owl fly to them with a special birthday message! There is a great menu of party food and party bags, and invitations and a cake can be supplied!
The Trust is a charity with the conservation of birds of prey at its heart, and a visit goes a long way to support the international conservation work the Trust performs. For those who want to visit many times and want to support the conservation work, there is the chance to become a member of the Trust from £3 a month.

Bring the family to the Hawk Conservancy Trust for a day in the country; to have fun, to learn, to be inspired and to be amazed. Please check our website www.hawkconservancy.org for opening times and daily timetables. The site is fully accessible with Feathers Restaurant and the Trust Shop onsite.
